How We Eat Now

(And Why We Had to Rethink Everything)

Let’s be real—COVID wrecked a lot of routines.
Ours included.

We’ve been running a prepared meal delivery business for over 20 years. It’s our full-time gig, and we’re damn good at it. We love food. We know food. And for years, we thrived on a strict keto lifestyle. We felt sharp. Strong. Lean. Alive.

Then 2020 hit.

Practically overnight, our business exploded.

Folks with preexisting health conditions were scared—and they turned to us to keep them nourished and safe. It was a meaningful kind of chaos. We were proud to serve our community during that crisis.

But we also served ourselves…

  • Extra snacks
  • Extra drinks
  • Extra portions
  • And zero boundaries

We skipped our own meals. We grabbed whatever was fast.
And yep—we packed on the pandemic pounds.

Resetting After the Chaos

About 18 months later, the world calmed down a bit.
We finally stopped to look in the mirror.

We didn’t love what we saw. And we definitely didn’t love how we felt.

So we decided to go back to what always worked for us: strict keto.

A reset. A return to clarity.

What happened next surprised even us.

Our Bodies Remembered

Even after 18 months off the wagon, we were still fat-adapted. Here’s how we knew:

  • No keto flu. We dropped carbs and never felt the fog or fatigue. Our bodies remembered how to burn fat.
  • No cravings. We ate less, felt great, and had steady energy.
  • No question. We felt that unmistakable fat-burning vibe within days.

Within a few months, we were back to our pre-COVID weight.
No drama. No deprivation. Just real results.

Keto Built the Foundation

Before this, we would’ve told you that going off keto for a year meant starting from scratch.

We were wrong.

Turns out—once your body learns how to burn fat, it doesn’t forget.
Even after a long break, it knows how to flip the metabolic switch again. Fast.

That’s not just encouraging—that’s a f’n superpower.

So, How Do We Eat Now?

These days, we eat primal.
Still low carb, but not keto-strict. More flexibility, more variety, and more joy.

But we keep keto in our back pocket.
If we gain a few pounds or feel a mental fog rolling in, we know exactly how to drop into ketosis—and our bodies respond within days.

Keto isn’t our identity anymore.
But it gave us a foundation of metabolic strength that serves us every day.

The Takeaway?

We’re not worried about food anymore.
We’re confident in our bodies. We’ve trained for this.

(And if we ever end up on Naked and Afraid, we’ll absolutely crush the no-food part.)

Your Turn

You don’t have to do it perfectly. You don’t have to do it forever.

But if you teach your body how to burn fat, it will remember.
And that memory? It’s one of the best gifts you can give your future self.
